L'Idéal (Marseille, France) is a delicious collage of unexpected elements. A façade as it appears, found marble and, of course, bright white tablecloths. Arches, Calacatta marble and psychedelic pine, a nod to Ettore Sottsass, evoke the charm of Italian trattorias. The kitchen is bursting with creativity : raspberries abound, lemon cream stripes adorn the ceiling, with a hint of Gio Ponti nearby. A wood-fired oven, a handy Zizou and a steaming coffee machine create a dynamic atmosphere while the red mullet cooks. A fresco à la Jérôme Bosch - or almost - adds to the eclectic atmosphere. Everything else is served at the table.
